Hey Guys,

So for my final blog posting for this class, I will be reflecting on my challenges, strengths, and my improvements that I have experienced in this class. My hardest challenge is juggling schoolwork with work and family life. That has been my biggest challenge all throughout my year and a half here at Full Sail. One of my strengths is that I persevere. That perseverance is what helps me jump the hurdle of juggling my workload. Another strength of mine is my ability to learn quickly. This has also come in handy during my classes, and most definitely in this class as well. These two strengths will improve over the next few months and hopefully take me well beyond graduation.

I have improved in my abilities to focus on a greater goal and to bring multiple projects together in unison. In addition, I have improved on my creativity. Creativity and focus are what I consider to be my weakest link, and this class has helped me improve on those weaknesses.

Hello Everyone,

So, for my final project in my Content Strategy, Development, and Marketing class, I have chosen to use Starbucks as my brand for my final project.  As discussed in my previous blog posts, I will be producing a podcast as my content deliverable and Twitter as my social media channel to promote my podcast.

I will be using twitter to identify my brand to my followers for a multitude of reasons.

1. Twitter has over 645 million active registered users. (Statisticbrain)
2. Twitter’s hashtag system allows for me to communicate directly with individual users and also allows for the creation of trends. (Hashtags.org)

Hello again everyone,

As a continuation of my previous week’s post, I will be discussing the details of my final project in Content Strategy, Development and Marketing class. The brand I have chosen is Starbucks. The deliverable type for my final project will be a Podcast (series).

I chose this deliverable because I feel that this channel has not yet been utilized properly by Starbucks, and it should be. Starbucks has a loyal following, so it should be hard to get people to listen to the podcast series. In addition, Starbucks has been facing some public relations issues over the last few years and this gives Starbucks the opportunity to gain a voice.

Podcasts are easy to track the amount of listeners and could also pay for themselves with advertising. The podcasts will be intertwined with social media accounts, the Starbucks main website, and a corresponding blog. So to sum it up, with the economy in the fragile state that it is on, Starbucks needs a way to maintain loyalty, work on image, and continue bringing in more customers into their stores. These podcasts give Starbucks the opportunity to achieve these long and short-term goals.

Hello Everyone,

It has been a while since I’ve posted. Let me start by re-introducing myself, as this post is for my Content Strategy, Development and Marketing class. My name is Vinny, I am 28 years old, and I live in Manahawkin, NJ with my wife, Michelle and my 5 year old daughter, Annalise. I work in the heating and air conditioning industry as a service tech for the last 9 years. I am in the Internet Marketing bachelor degree program at Full Sail with the intentions on becoming a successful Internet Marketer.

For my final project in this class, I will be focusing on Starbucks as my brand. I have chosen Starbucks as my choice because it is a brand that I like and that I am also familiar with. I enjoy their products and like their marketing techniques. I am looking forward to creating a campaign around the Starbucks brand. I hope that this class will help me in the planning, implementation, and scaling of content marketing. Thank you all for taking the time to read my blog post.

Today I will be discussing some pros and cons of visual resumes, as well as comparing it to my LinkedIn profile and listing some jobs that I feel visual resumes are appropriate for.

 Visual Resume Pros:
1. Visual resumes set you apart from your competitors.
2. Visual resumes allow prospective employers to see your creative side.
3. Visual resumes allow you to condense pages of wordy information into a colorful and easy to read infographic.

Visual Resume Cons:
1. Visual Resumes can be hard to edit later.
2. You will still need a traditional resume for most job portal websites.
3. Visual Resumes may not yet be embraced by a particular company or hiring manager.

I believe that any job that entails a good bit of design, technology, or marketing would be a good fit for visual resumes. Very large corporations and government jobs may still require a traditional resume though.

My LinkedIn profile can be considered as both a traditional resume and a visual resume. My profile starts with my picture and a bit of background information about me. The “Experience” and “Education” sections take the form of a traditional resume, listing all of my previous work and schooling experience. My “Skills and Expertise” is an interactive, visual section that changes as people endorse me. My LinkedIn profile also goes beyond both traditional and visual resumes by also listing my connections, groups and who and what I am following.

Content Strategy at Work
This podcast, UIE Book Corner: Margot Bloomstein’s “Content Strategy at Work” helped me realize that the need for a content strategy is important. Margot made excellent points that in small budget and restricted environments, where you may think you don’t need a content strategy, are when you need a content strategy the most. When projects are small, the amount of content is small, so you need to have a large impact with a limited amount of resources. To do so, a content strategy is needed. She also brought up how a content strategy can apply to social media like Twitter and Facebook. The biggest thing that I have learned from this podcast is to look at social media as an investment of
time, creativity, and energy. Her book seems very interesting, I will definitely need to read it.
